Summer’s in our electric bills are racking up and so is our need for a cold one. Might as well treat yourself a good one, right? And what’s better than an ice-cold Margarita to cool off all that nasty stress? Now, you might be thinking of getting that margarita mix out of the fridge, but let me ask you this, what’s the point of that? If you’re going to treat yourself well, then do so! And I’m going to show you how to make your own, right at home in 3 easy steps.

1. Find the Best Ingredients for your home-made Margarita

Anyone still holding onto that run-of-the-mill Margarita mix is more than welcome to put it down. Anyone? Ok good. First off you’ll want to get your top-quality tequila, some fine orange liqueur fresh, off-the-market lime juice, and quality syrup. Try to aim for the best you can get at the market. Sure, you might feel like it’s too much investment, but believe me, you are worth it (and what’s life if you can’t enjoy the good things?).

2. Set up your ingredients and 3 2 1 ratio

Tequila, Orange Liqueur, and Lime Juice should be added in a 3:2:1 ratio, that way you get the proper Margarita mix and not some offshoot recipe at your friend’s house, no sir, you want the good stuff.  6 Ounces of Tequila, 4 ounces of Orange Liqueur and 2 ounces of fresh lime juice should just about it for the ingredients part. (Do remember to drop in two tablespoons of syrup to the mix though).

3. Give it a good mix and enjoy!

Pour it all inside your cocktail shaker (ice preferred), give it a good mix, and keep doing so until it feels (and tastes) just right. With that done, all that’s left is to rim the coat of your glass with salt, fill it with ice, put a wedge of lime on it, for tradition’s sake, and last but not least, enjoy. Cheers!

There, didn’t I tell you? One margarita can make all the difference, right? Well if you enjoyed yourself this much from the mundane confines of your home then just imagine what it would be like to do so aboard a top-of-the-line cruise. Open bars, seasoned mixers, and one of the (if not the) most beautiful beaches in all of Mexico as the backdrop (give or take a sunset without compare). Just some food for thought 😉
